"Sell me this pen" / "Pitch me a stock" thrown in cold — how do you handle it?
How to answer
For a stock: one-line recommendation (long/short), then 2-3 reasons (catalyst, valuation, moat) and one key risk — structure over depth. For "sell me this pen": uncover the buyer's need first, then position the product against it. Either way: lead with a clear thesis, support it briefly, acknowledge the other side.
Key idea: Listing features with no thesis or no risk. A view without acknowledging the bear case (or the buyer's actual need) reads as one-sided and unconvincing.
